RV Dinette Renovation
Taking out our RV dinette seating and replacing with a bar added so much space to our area! Our travel trailer does not have any slide-outs so making the kitchen more functional was a must. However, we didn’t want to lose storage space since we are fulltime and every inch of storage is very important to us. To compromise, we used cube organizers to hold up the bar which worked great!
A couple of road blocks we faced when designing this area were the carbon monoxide detector, the wheel well, and getting a wooden bar without too much weight added. Thankfully, relocating the carbon monoxide detector was very easy! We just popped it out of the dinette frame and added it into a new cutout. For the wheel well, we built custom frames to lift the shelves and sit evenly on the well. And lastly, for the bar, we used an edge-glued fir board to give a faux butcher block look without the heavy weight which I love!
