RV Bedroom Renovation

Although cozy at night time, the bedroom in our travel trailer was extremely dark and it made the space feel very small and cramped. To brighten it up, I painted all of the dark “wood” white, added a shiplap style wallpaper on the back for the headboard, and added a wood plank sheet on top of the bedside table areas to add a bit more color.

When I removed the wood trim where the wallpaper would go, there was a small indentation that needed to be filled and smoothed to better allow the wallpaper to stick. I filled it with a flexible / rubbery caulk, then sanded to smoothed. To make sure the wallpaper stayed up in varying temperatures, I used gorilla glue spray as an extra adhesive to the self-adhesive wallpaper.

I love the end result so much! It feels so much brighter and still feels very cozy at night, especially when you add reflectix to the windows to block out any light.

I’ve included the before and after photos below as well as links to the items I used in my bedroom renovation to help you get started customizing your own RV!
